HOW TO FEED PLANTS ORGANICALLY

......

Here are some instructions and helpful information for using Sustainable Nutes natural liquid fertilizer and how to feed plants organically.

1. Who can benefit from organic fertilizer?

Whether you’re a home hobby-gardener or professional commercial grower, Sustainable Nutes ʻUpsʻ general plant formula, ʻInfloʻ flower booster, and ‘Orchid and Exotic Plant Food’ support healthy vibrant plants and soil health. We keep plant and soil nutrition simple, just add our organic liquid fertilizer and water.

2. What is the correct dilution for liquid fertilizer?

When switching fertilizers or transitions between glowing stages, we recommend start with a high dilution ration (see package under Supplemental Feed).  After 1-2 feeding, the lower dilution ration could be used (see package under Standalone).  With organic fertilizers, toxicity issues and nutrient lockup are less common.  Monitor your plants for results. If you have concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to send photos or your plats.  We love to help.

Please note, Sustainable  Nutes products are stand-alone organic liquid fertilizer and plant food made in Hawai’i. However, feel free to mix our fertilizers with what works for you & your plants.

3. When do you use Sustainable Nutes?

You can use ʻUps,ʻ our all-purpose organic plant food, during all parts of the plant cycle. The ʻInfloʻ Organic Bloom Food works best for bloom, flower, and fruit cycles. The ‘Orchid and Exotic Plant Food’ is our annual organic plant food for the year-round cultivation of orchids and exotic plants.

4. What is the best storage for organic liquid fertilizer?

We recommend storing any Sustainable Nutes product in a cool place, away from direct sunlight.

5. Why use organic fertilizer?

Traditional commercial fertilizer can be horrible for overall soil health and the environment. Despite being from natural or organic sources as minerals, organic matter, etc., they are are typically highly-concentrated and synthetic based due to manufacturing processes. High doses of synthetic nutrient salts can burn your plants and lead to nutrient runoff issues that may compromise soil and water quality. We discovered, or actually re-discovered, nature’s secret to healthy and nutritious plants with high yields, delicious fruits, and fragrant flowers, without compromising eco-biodiversity and natural resource sustainability.  It’s all about feeding both the plant and the rhizome (or root) microbial systems which, in turn, supports the plant and soil nutrient retention.

6. What are the recommendations for organic liquid fertilizer?

‘Orchid and Exotic Plant Food’ is a full-balanced organic fertilizer with trace minerals that supports annual orchid and exotic plant growth. This product is intended for indoor and outdoor potted orchids and exotic plants. It is best used for plants annually in the cutting, vegetative, early flowering (cross-over), budding, and blooming growth stages.

For initial use, mix 2.5 mL per 1 liter (or 10 mL per 1 gallon) of water for the first feeding. For continual use, mix 5- 10 mL per 1 liter (or 20- 40 mL per gallon) of water for each biweekly to monthly feed.

It s recommended to feed orchid and exotic plants once to twice per month, or every other week. At this feeding frequency, mix 15 mL per liter (or 56.8 mL per 1 gallon) of water. This regiment will provide each feeding with 100 ppm N, 50 ppm P2O5, 20 ppm K2O, 50 ppm Ca, and 5 ppm Mg for optimal annual growth (225 ppm of total available nutrients).

‘Ups’ is an all-natural plant food and fish fertilizer that supports seedlings and vegetative growth. This product is intended for indoor and outdoor potted plants, African violets, annuals, fruit trees, fuchsias, gardenias, herbs, hibiscus, ornamental flowering trees, perennials, and vegetables, as well as cannabis and hemp.  This product is best used annually for seeds, cuttings, clones, and plants in vegetative, early flowering (cross-over), budding, and flowering growth stages.

Mix 15 mL per liter (or 57 mL per gallon) of water for young plants (seedling/ clonal transition to vegetative growth or early vegetative growth stage). For continual use, mix 25.5 mL per 1 liter (or 96.5 mL per gallon) of water for each weekly feed (vegetative and bloom growth stages).

It is recommended to feed plants once per week. At this feeding frequency, mix 25.5 mL per liter (or 96.5 mL per gallon) of water. This regiment will provide 176 ppm N, 80 ppm P2O5, 25 ppm K2O, 80 ppm Ca, and 6 ppm Mg for optimal annual growth (386 ppm of total available nutrients).

‘Inflo’ is an organic bloom food and phosphorus and potassium fertilizer that supports bloom, flower, bud, and fruit growth, in addition to plant immunity. This product is intended for indoor and outdoor potted plants, African violets, annuals, fruit trees, fuchsias, gardenias, herbs, hibiscus, orchids, ornamental flowering trees, perennials, vegetables, and cannabis/ hemp.
